C. Trains already departing from those adjacent tracks are advised to stop and make sure the route is not obstructed and nothing is hanging from the sides, or from the roofs of their trains. C1: Trains arriving on adjacent tracks are advised to stop X car lengths north of end of track, to not open the doors and to stand-by for instructions. If E/W/N/S end of the train fouls the interlocking, notify the OCC, and do not resume movement without permission of the dispatcher. D.At the same time, a phone call is placed to the designated contact for first responders providing information of the incident as known at that time.Trainmaster does not answer phone in the terminal operations office.
E. Immediately thereafter, another trainmaster is dispatched to the lead locomotive or control car with items needed to access the data from the event recorder and a company issued camera (cellphones not allowed). This trainmaster is instructed to download the event recorder, retrieve all mechanical and cab signal inspection records on board that locomotive or car; check and photograph the position of the brake handle(s) and the throttle; photograph the position of all the switches, cut-outs, breakers, associated with the train control apparatus, i.e. mode switch, cab signal, cab signal indicator, automatic train stop, automatic speed control, automatic train control. Return to office with this information in ten minutes, or you won't need no rocket to fly through space.
F. Other personnel are dispatched to the scene to assist with evacuation of passengers and secure the train and engine crew.
G.Chief Train Dispatcher is notified and asked to preserve the dispatcher's "train sheet," and prepare the digital archive of the train's movement in the terminal for review.
H.System Supervisor of Locomotive Engineers (General Road Foreman of Engines),Chief Mechanical Officer (or designee), Chief Engineer, Director of Operating Rules, Chief Safety Officer, Director, Signals and Communication notified.
H1.SLE/GRFE, Director C&S,and CMO advised of event recorder download and that the data will be reviewed within the half-hour.
I. Wire Chief notified to prepare the tapes of all radio transmissions in the terminal between the hours of __:__ and __:__.
J. Somebody, even you (sneaking out of the office), chalk in hand, marks the point of rest of the lead wheel of the lead car or locomotive. Sneak back into office.
K. If trains arriving on adjacent tracks can safely unload, fine, if not, reassign trains to other tracks, including tracks already occupied by equipment; instruct crews to unload on the platform and prepare for a reverse move after unloading.
L. If trains schedule to depart adjacent tracks cannot safely proceed, prepare to unload train safely and move passengers to other equipment. If equipment on other tracks not available, annul trains, advising crew to unload and escort passengers to exits away from the scene, and then report to the trainmasters' office.
M. Remove all track assignments for scheduled departing trains from the public information system.
N. Only now, may you answer the phone. Advise VP-O, event recorder download in process, photographs being taken. Hold phone safe distance from ear.
